Meet the Fusion Team
-
Founder
Jim founded Fusion Financial in 2005 with a clear vision: to help nonprofits and small businesses harness the power of finance. With a BBA and MBA in Finance from Grand Valley State University and a CMA certification, he focuses on building a firm that serves clients well, supports its employees, and lasts for the long term. Outside of work, Jim enjoys reading history, golfing, and unwinding with a good glass of wine — ideally somewhere quiet and reflective.
-
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Carol oversees the business operations that keep Fusion running smoothly behind the scenes — the systems and structure that let the team stay focused on client success. Before joining Fusion, she built and led a commercial interior design firm in Grand Rapids, and holds a BFA with a business minor from Kendall College of Art & Design. Outside the office, she tends her garden, spends time with her grandkids, and travels whenever the opportunity arises.
-
Accounting Director
Carisa has been part of Fusion since 2006, building long client relationships and providing the kind of steady accounting oversight that lets business owners focus on what they do best. She holds a BBA in Finance from Grand Valley State University and is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Outside of work, she spends time in her craft room, experiments with new recipes, and makes memories with her husband and two sons.
-
Business Development Manager
Jacqueline is often the first person prospective clients meet at Fusion — and increasingly, the one who stays with them. In addition to leading business development, she manages a growing set of client accounting engagements, drawing on her BBA in Accounting from Metropolitan State University of Denver and several years managing operations at a family-owned luxury jewelry business. Outside of work, she's hiking the trails around Denver with her husband, their son and daughter, and their dog Miles — usually with a craft beer waiting at the end.
-
Project Accountant
Alissa works alongside Jim on Fusion's advisory engagements, supporting the strategic, project-based work that helps clients make confident financial decisions. She came to Fusion from a Grand Rapids law firm where she managed office operations, and holds a BA in English and Journalism from Aquinas College. Outside the office, she's lost in a good mystery novel, off on a nature-filled road trip, or at home with her husband, their son and daughter, and a beloved pack of three cats and two dogs.
-
Accounting Manager
Trevor is the person clients call when their business gets complicated. With 15+ years across inventory and materials, automotive and engineering finance, banking, and food — and a BBA in Finance from Northwood University — he brings the kind of cross-industry perspective that turns monthly accounting into real operational insight. Outside the office, he plays guitar, drums, and bass, has bowled multiple perfect games, and is working toward visiting all 50 states with his wife Halley.
